From his start in catering at Buck Ridge Plantation, to his years of careful study at the Art Institute of Charleston, Orangeburg, SC, native, Chef Tyler Chavis has always had a passion for the preparation and serving of good food. He grew up with an appreciation of locally grown produce, learning from an early age to incorporate the fresh vegetables harvested in his family’s garden, adjusting his choices based on what was in season. As a hunter, farm-to-table values are ingrained in his cooking philosophy and he works with a steadfast respect for the animals that become a part of each meal at Stars.
