Charleston’s Best New Bars at Stars Restaurant

Looking for Charleston’s best new bars?  Stars Restaurant Rooftop and Grill Room on Upper King Street has two full bars located on the first floor and third floor rooftop. Since opening in early October, Stars has been the downtown hot spot for after work cocktails, before (or after) dinner drinks and relaxed gatherings with friends. It’s easy to see why…

Walking into Stars, guests are immediately drawn to the gorgeous bar in the front center of the restaurant. Comfortable and inviting, the main bar at Stars is spacious for sharing libations with friends. With jazz music serenading throughout the main floor, the vibe at Stars is upbeat and festive. Unwind and relax with a glass with a glass of wine from our extensive wine selections including estate vintages from our artisan tap wine menu.  Our mixologists are skilled at traditional favorites and specialty cocktails uniquely their own such as our Honey Suckle Shandy (Cat Head Honey Suckle vodka, Drambuie, Aperol, White Thai Westbrook beer, squeeze of fresh local honey) and The Capone (Templeton, splash Absente, dash of Peychauds bitters).

While sipping, it is perfectly acceptable to nibble on amazing appetizers at the bar.  In fact, in might be pretty hard to resist! Chef Nathan Thurston has created delicious starters that symbolize the heart and culinary inspiration behind the entire restaurant.  Local, fresh seafood and twists on traditional fares can all be found on the menu.  Favorites among regular guests include Oysters Bulls Bay (baked oysters, spinach, asiago cheese, garlic, brandy) and Honey-Thyme Cured Bacon BLT’s (cured tomato, crispy vegetable straw, spicy mayo).

Looking to sip in the fresh Charleston air? Head upstairs to the third floor Rooftop Bar.  With its 360 degree views of downtown, the wraparound Rooftop Bar has quickly become Charleston’s favorite place to relax with friends. Whether at Stars during sunset or starlit nights, the Rooftop Bar offers ample seating around the bar and at tables with deep cushioned chairs.  The atmosphere is relaxed, laid back and lively….quintessential “Charleston” if you ask us! On the weekends, enjoy the hottest ticket football games on the televisions dispersed around the bars.
