Seeing Stars at the Best Rooftop Bar in Charleston SC

Sipping cocktails during a gorgeous sunset overlooking historic downtown Charleston…sounds heavenly, doesn’t it?  That’s  just one reason why guests consider Stars the best rooftop bar in Charleston SC.  If you haven’t visited our rooftop yet, here are a few more reasons to make it part of your downtown Charleston plans.

Perched above upper King Street, Stars Rooftop Bar is a haven away from the hustle and bustle of the street below.  When you get on the elevator to take the short ride to the third floor, be sure to leave all pretense and worries behind.  While the atmosphere is stylish, the vibe is definitely fun. Our rooftop offers the best of Lowcountry living…easy and relaxed.  This is a place for tall cocktails and long conversations!

Guests can take a seat at one of the two bars or in comfortable recycled wicker furniture that is perfect for relaxing with friends. The only rooftop bar to provide 360 degree views of historic Charleston, Stars is the perfect place to enjoy stunning sunsets and star-filled nights. During the winter when the temperatures are sometimes cool, Stars rooftop is outfitted with ten space heaters allowing guests to sip cocktails, wine and beer in comfort.

Speaking of cocktails…our mixologists have crafted the best specialty drinks that can only be found at Stars.  Favorites from our 10 for $10 cocktail menu include The Last Word (Hendricks Gin, Luxardo Maraschino, Green Chartreus, Fresh Squeezed Lime), The Brooks Derrick (Woodford Bourbon, Antica Vermouth, Pear and Fig Compote) and the  Jackie O (Lane Castle Irish Whisky, Pastis, Yellow Chartreus, Dash of Pumpkin Bitters, Lemon Juice).

If wine is more to your liking, Stars offers an extensive menu of vintages that can’t be found anywhere else in Charleston.  One of the unique aspects of both our rooftop and main dining room bars is our artisan tap wine.  While guests see only the VinTap Wine handles displayed across the bar, the system behind it is revolutionary.  It is a stainless steel sealed keg system that uses an inert gas to push the wine through the lines which protects the wine from oxidation and cork taint.  What this means to the wine lover is they are able to sip exclusive vintages that normally would not be available by the glass.  The keg system ensures each glass of wine is “winery fresh.”  A great accompaniment to our many great wines is our artisan cheese plates that are available on the rooftop.

We welcome you to visit our rooftop bar and see for yourself why Charlestonians consider it the best place downtown to relax after work or before dinner.

Stars Rooftop is open daily at 4 p.m. and seating is available on a first come, first served basis.  Reservations for our dining room can be made by calling 843-577-0100 or online.
